Trials, Errors, and Too Many Redesigns
I’ve been building and rebuilding my personal website for a while now, experimenting with different frameworks, layouts, and design ideas. This post is a look back at the many iterations I’ve gone through on my journey as a web developer.
Along the way, I’ve switched entire tech stacks more than once, tested countless templates from around the internet, and reworked them into my own style. Each version taught me something new, about design, about code, and about what I actually want my website to feel like.
This blog is a timeline of that evolution:
June 2018
The very beginning. My first attempt at a personal website. I think I used Hugo as the static site generator. I was just starting out with web development and I was trying to learn as I went along.

February 2021
A fresh start with new ideas and a cleaner look. I didnt like the clutter and thought of making it very simple and clean. But I guess it became so clean and empty so that I wanted to fix it later.

July 2022
Experimenting with templates in NextJS. I used Chronark themes from NextJS. I remenber page view counter was the key factor why I took this template. Also it looked good too ;)

June 2024
Major redesign with a more modern approach. Here I used AstroJS and tried to replicate enscribe.dev look and feel. Felt it became too identical and chucked the plan. Each iteration needs motivation which I will get in around a month or two. So if I am not comfortable with the design, I’ll keep the website as it is anyway for the next few months wating for me to get motivated. Major motivation factor is Cursor Pro subscription xD. Another fun fact, I came back to this template and I am riocking this desing now. I didnt blatently copy the enscribe version, but I used erudite template as a reference and then worked on it to improve it further in my own style.

December 2024
This was my attempt to refining the enscribe design, getting closer to what I wanted. Looking back, this loked very nice and I wanted to keep it. But delba.dev design captivated me and I wanted to give it a try.

January 2025
New year, new look. Starting fresh again. This time with delba.dev design. This original website is not available now as delba is working on it to revamp it. There are tons of similar versions of this website and I think the original one looked fake now and maybe that’s why she is changing it.

March 2025
Firast attempt of the year to make an origibnal layout and design.

April 2025
Liked the previous layout and now working on it make it more unique and add some more features.

June 2025
Summer refresh with updated aesthetics. This is how the redesign process came into. This is so far the best UI I got into and I was content in it. But I felt like it was more of a resume website and not a personal website.

October 2025
Because of the downside of the previous one, I modified but made the design more awkward and not so good. Which wasn’t the intention actually but there’ you go, planning an improving without UI design properly made me make these novice mistakes.

November 2025
Almost there! The penultimate version. This was so good, but the homepoage UI was a wide version and the other pages were narrow which contantly triggered my OCD/ADHD and what not.

And here we are!
The current version you’re looking at right now. Built with Astro, Tailwind, and shadcn/ui. It’s been quite a journey, and I’m sure this won’t be the last iteration either. But for now, I’m happy with where it’s at FOR NOW :P.
